Abstract
Effect of dc discharge treatment on the surface properties of polyfluoroolefin films was studied. It is found that modification leads to significant improvement of contact properties. It is shown that the efficiency of treatment on the anode and cathode depends on the chemical structure of polymers. Changes in the composition and structure of polymer films were studied by X-ray photoelectron and Fourier transform IR spectroscopy, and the formation of new oxygen-containing groups was found. A procedure for quantitative assessment of the adhesion characteristics of polyfluoroolefin polymer films modified by plasma was developed.
