Abstract

EDM machines are expected to become more advanced in the future and enhance the productivity and efficiency of the system. Literatures are evident that research interest in electrical discharge machining process has significantly increased in past decade. EDM process involves the erosion of workpiece through spark which includes melting and vaporization, material transformation from tool, repeatedly solidifications and thermal decomposition of dielectric fluid. This paper aims to provide a brief review of surface modification during electrical discharge machining process.
