Abstract

A robust anti-corrosive coating has been prepared by using functional fly ash with excellent interface binding strength. Molecular cross-linking design and surface augmentation techniques improve the anti-corrosion capabilities of functional fly ash coatings. The epoxy group produced by functional fly ash cross-links with the iminoamino group of isocyanate, resulting in prominent shielding functions and mechanical property improvements. In comparison with pure polyurea coating, it can improve the impedance modulus by 1000 times. This study is expected to provide new insights into the preparation of functional fly ash coatings with a unique internal cross-linking effect.
