Abstract

Magnetic properties of an amorphous semi-infinite spin- 1 2 Ising ferromagnet are investigated by the use of the effective-field theory with correlations. We find a number of characteristics behaviors for the surface magnetic properties. In particular, the surface crystallization of an amorphous ferromagnet may be important from the academic as well as technological point of view in the sense that a surface transition temperature higher than that of the bulk can be obtained from the process of an appropriate amorphous semi-infinite ferromagnet.
