Abstract

Surface impedance measurements have been made (between 11 and 20 GHz) using a cavity perturbation technique on three high quality BSCCO single crystals (from two sources) as a function of temperature (4–300K) and static magnetic field (up to 1.8T). The results for all three samples exhibit microwave behaviour dominated by flux-line motion which is dependent on sample orientation; in addition, for one sample there is unusual behaviour due to the large anisotropy in BSCCO.
