Abstract
The author shows that the surface Green function matching method can be easily applied to ferromagnetic media by defining a four-dimensional Green function that includes the elastic and magnetic fields. For a system with an interface this method reduces to one-half, with respect to other treatments, the order of the secular determinant. An application is made to the study of shear horizontal waves for surfaces and interfaces when the applied field is perpendicular to the propagation direction.
