Abstract

Both surface electrical potential and surface structure of spontaneously poled Pb0.85La0.15Ti0.963O3 (PLT) c-axis-oriented film on (100)Pt-coated (100)MgO single-crystal substrate were simultaneously measured by Kelvin force microscope in air. The surface electrical potential clearly revealed the polarity of the polarization on the film surface, i.e., the film surface had either positive or negative electrical potential. However, the surface electrical potential was strongly affected by floating charged particles.
