Abstract

SUMMARY. — This article contains detailed reviews of three recent works on the history of mathematics published in the Soviet Union. 1) A Russian-language edition of the works of Diophantus carried out under the direction of Mme I. G. Rachmakova (by A. P. Youschkevitch). 2) A French translation by Prof. B. Laptiev of a standard work in Russian by V. Kagan on Lobatchevski (by R. Taton). 3) A study by F. A. Medvedev of the French school of function and set theory in the late 19th and early 20th centuries (by P. Dugac).
