Abstract
The author of this travelogue follows in the footsteps of Nicolas Bouvier on the Aran Islands off the coast of Ireland. By surveying the almost deserted island of Inishmore in the middle of winter, he seeks to understand what fascinated the author of The Way of the World on these Atlantic stones twenty years earlier.
