Abstract

Abstract Study of the eastward prolongation of the Villagrains-Landiras fold in the Garonne basin, France, throws light on the precise dating of some of the last movements of the Pyrenean orogeny. Not a very pronounced structure, it nevertheless has determined the course of the Garonne in the region and has influenced Miocene sedimentation in this part of the Aquitaine basin.
