Abstract

For the fitting of binary phase diagrams, which is often the first necessary step in predicting the properties of multi-order systems, a linear system has to be solved. Numerical instabilities, however, frequently arise from the ill-conditioned linear system (ill-posed problem in the sense of Hadamard). A very useful method is proposed to solve this problem and to obtain the best possible results for a given set of experimental data.
