Abstract

The behaviour of a passive scalar, represented by the temperature, is studied through two types of active control, Ad-Hoc wall-normal v and transverse w velocity components in a turbulent wall-bounded flow. A link is established between the flux and shear reduction at the wall. The Ad-Hoc control through the opposite in phase transverse velocity component is elucidated. The differences between v and w control are discussed through this mechanism. To cite this article: O. Doche, S. Tardu, C. R. Mecanique 336 (2008).
