Abstract

Improvement of signal to noise ratio and image quality with multiplicative or additive fluctuations are well-known problems. We analyse here these two aspects of the restoration of an image in the domain of photon noise. The main developments of this analysis are made with coded poisson process, for the application in gammagraphy. The influence of the pseudo wiener filter parameter used in deconvolution is studied in the object space. We show that it influences mainly the signal. In this space Fresnel zone plate and annular aperture are compared quantitatively. The practical conclusions of these studies lead to the accuracy of the results and are very important for clinical diagnosis.
