Abstract

Abstract The known species of Thecideidae brachiopods in eastern Europe are few, three each in Czechoslovakia and the USSR. The recent discovery of three species in Romania thus is an important contribution. Vermiculothecidea vermicularis Schlotheim occurs in the Maestrichtian (upper Cretaceous) of the southeastern Carpathian mountains. Davidsonella (?) tithonica n. sp. occurs in the Tithonian (upper Jurassic) of the Sinaa area on the headwaters of the Prahova river in the southeastern Carpathians. Agerinella lyrata n. sp. occurs in the upper Oxfordian (upper Jurassic) at the La Adam grotto in the Visterna valley.
