Abstract

Abstract Describes gabbro-diorite masses on the southwest slope of the Canigou in the eastern French Pyrenees. Such basic masses are common in the transition zone of the migmatites in this region; they are older than the late miggmatitic granites in the transition zone and are always associated with marble. They are considered contemporaneous with the principal phase of migmatization (brecciation), and are the result of replacement at contacts with the marble. Chemical analyses are included.
