Abstract

We study theoretically the single ionization of hydrogen molecules by fast electron impact for transitions from the ground (gerade) state to final ground (gerade) and first excited (ungerade) states of H2+. For the first time, we show that the binary and recoil peaks (usually associated to classical mechanisms) may be completely supressed by quantum interference effects similar to the ones predicted previously for photoionization reactions.
