Abstract

Based on its historical evolution, the study focuses on the current situation of the most powerful scheme undertaken integration of Latin America: the Mercosur, with its more immediate precedents, in a context influenced by other integration initiatives and cooperation in the region.Member countries belong to some of them. With these historical and contextual circumstances, together with a conceptual approach to the phenomenon 'integration' from the perspective of international relations, the fit of the concept 'supranational' in the various constitutions of the five countries that currently make up the MERCOSUR is analyzed.
