Abstract

The influence of silica nanoparticles (22nm) on viscoelasticity in micellar solutions of anionic surfactant sodium oleoyl methyl taurate was investigated. It was shown that viscosity and relaxation time extremely change with increasing nanoparticle concentration in surfactant solution, and elastic modulus reaches a constant value after rising to a concentration up to 0.9wt.%. The temperature rise leads to a significant increase in the viscosity of surfactant solutions by adding nanoparticles. This fact is caused by an increase in the number of end groups in cylindrical micelles, which are able to attach to nanoparticles.
