Abstract

Three new complexes having formula [Zn(L)(H2O)3·1.5H2O)]n (1), [M(L)(H2O)3·H2O]n (M = Ni (2) and Co (3)), [H2L=4-(2,4-disulfophenyl)-2,6-di(pyrazinyl)pyridine] have been hydrothermally synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR, single crystal X-ray diffraction and thermal analyses. X-ray single diffraction studies reveal that the three complexes 1-3 crystallized in the orthorhombic system with Fdd2 space group, which show isostructural mononuclear structure and are further extended into 3D supramolecular network by inter-molecular hydrogen bonding and π···π stacking interactions. The varied types of weak interactions in their framework have been assessed using Hirshfeld surface analyses and fingerprint plots. Additionally, the thermal stabilities, magnetic and photoluminescence properties of 1-3 have been investigated.
