Abstract
We show that the observed suppression of the $\ensuremath{\Lambda}(1520)/\ensuremath{\Lambda}$ ratio in central Au+Au collisions at the BNL Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider can be naturally understood in the constituent quark recombination model.
