Abstract
Time resolved reflectivity measurements of multiple-quantum-well Bragg structures show a strong reduction of the reflectivity at increased excitation levels. At low intensities, a pump-induced contrast of more than 20% in the reflectivity of a 10 quantum well Bragg structure is observed and attributed to the superradiant coupling between the quantum-well excitons. This superradiant state is gradually suppressed for increasing excitation densities due to rapid loss of phase coherence via excitation induced dephasing.
