Abstract

The method of phase synthesis is used to suppress the lower sidelobes (SLs) of he radiation pattern (RP) of phased arrays (PAs). The dependences of variations in the RP parameters on the level of the lower SLs are derived, and the limiting possibilities of the method for suppression of the SLs are determined. A scenario in which lower SLs are suppressed only starting from a certain arbitrary SL is also considered. It is shown that, in this case, it is possible to achieve a lower level of SL and less worsening of the remaining RP parameters.
