Abstract

Abstract The cooperative form of management is an essential part of the social economy. One of the most important elements in supporting social entrepreneurship is the problem of efficiency of different kinds of support. This paper presents an assessment of the effectiveness of social cooperatives in the traditional way, using the concepts and measures typical for-profit enterprises. The main objective of the research was to assess the effectiveness of financial aid, received by social cooperatives. The subject of the study were twenty social cooperatives, created from 2005 to 2010 in one of the Polish region (Warmia and Mazury). The study shows that there is some level of support, that allows to develop Polish social cooperatives.
