Abstract
Possibly the best example of integration of handicapped pupils in mainstream education is that of the hearing impaired. For those unfamiliar with this area Linda Watson provides a very clear description of hearing loss and its implication for schools. Teaching strategies are addressed, in particular those requiring teacher sensitivity and adjustment. A rich variety of videos and published material is available to the interested reader.
