Abstract

Dyslexia or reading disability is a disorder manifested by difficulty in learning to read despite conventional instruction, adequate intelligence, and sociocultural opportunity. In this paper we focus on the potential benefits of the use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) especially for students with dyslexia. For this purpose, we present a brief overview of the most representative studies, which focuses on the use of ICT for students with specific learning disabilities. The aim of this research work is to reveal the possible learning style preferences of dyslexic students in virtual learning environments and to extend the scope of current research on adaptive learning system, in that the learning style preferences and cognitive capacity of dyslexic users are taken into account.
