Abstract

This paper suggests a DEA-based structure for efficiency evaluation of supply chain innovations considering innovation risk and performance improvement. In this model, risk paradigms of supply chain innovation and popular supply chain performance measures are considered as the input and output of CCR-output oriented model respectively. Defect of DEA in ranking the efficient units has been solved by cross-efficiency concept and a practical case study of Supply Chain Innovation Award's winners, runner-ups and finalists is implemented. The obtained results lead to develop the 'effective innovation' concept within the supply chain management field which provides an innovation with the lowest possible risk and the highest positive effect on supply chain performance measures.
