Abstract

In this document, we present two technical results. We first provide a formal proof that optimal consumption is strictly positive even if self-enforcing and not-too-tight debt limits typically bind. We also propose a simple example to illustrate that the uniform integrability condition imposed by Bidian and Bejan (2015) on the discounted debt limits is not necessarily satisfied at equilibrium.
