Abstract
The supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system of the city gas production and distribution network has two major appointed tasks of ensuring the safety and the stable supply of city gas. Osaka Gas Co., Ltd. has introduced the computer network system for city gas supply and for providing safety, which permits multiple vendors to join in the development of the system. This system, in which process computers and EWSs (Engineering Workstations) take their share of performance of the system by discharging their own function, provides high reliability and excellent operability.
