Abstract

This research aims to describe the academic (teaching) supervision carried out by school principals to improve the competence of class teachers for children with special needs at SLBN-1 Palangka Raya. The approach used is a qualitative approach with the research subjects being the school principal and class teachers. Data collection was carried out through interviews, observation and documentation. Data analysis includes data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of the research show that academic supervision by the school principal is: (1) the principal's learning program planning is carried out by directing and guiding class teachers in making learning plans, (2) techniques for implementing supervision are carried out in groups and individually, namely through meetings and individual supervision. classroom visits, as well as clinical supervision according to teacher needs, and (3) supervision of evaluation of student learning outcomes carried out periodically to ensure learning achievement.
