Abstract
It is shown that the ( R μvϱσ ) 4 term that appears with a transcendental coefficient in the low-energy effective action for heterotic, type I and type II superstrings has a trivial extension to d=10, N=1 superspace. The simplicity of our construction is due to the fact that in ten dimensions, on-shell N=1 supergravity is described by a scalar superfield.
