Abstract

The present paper deals with the results of experimental studies of viscous supersonic gas flow in a channel of constant cross-section with pseudoshock formation. A number of experimental studies of the deceleration process of a supersonic flow in the short and long channels (L/D=32 and L/D=64) were performed. Experimental data for a short channel are in good agreement with the known data in the literature. It was shown that the formation of pseudoshock in long channels (L/D=64) can occur without throttling at output, i.e., in the absence of backpressure. Changing the backpressure in a certain range does not affect the pseudoshock position.
