Abstract

A super-resolution frequency estimator for sinusoidal signals with unknown lowpass envelope is proposed, based on eigenanalysis and quadratic programming. Only a single snapshot is required to achieve the frequency estimation. Performance studies, which include comparisons of the proposed method and the nonlinear least-squares (NLS) approach with each other as well as with the Cramer-Rao bound (CRB), are presented. The simulations also illustrate the good performance of the proposed method in precision and super resolution.
