Abstract

The superplasticity of Ni/SiC composite produced by electrodeposition was characterized for the first time through the use of tensile tests. A maximum elongation of 571% was obtained at a temperature of 703 K and a strain rate of 8.33 × 10 −4 s −1. Fracture surfaces and microstructures were studied using SEM and TEM.
