Abstract

We study a semi-infinite superlattice consisting of a doped surface layer in addition to a periodic array of underlying two-dimensional charge layers. The difference in dielectric constant inside and outside is considered. The possible existence, and the dispersion relation of the surface plasmons are discussed. Numerical results are shown for different surface densities and positions of the surface layer.
