Abstract

The superlattice structural photocatalysts consisting of CoFe-LDHs nanosheets and titania nanosheets were successfully prepared by self-assembly method. The superlattice structure was evidenced by cross-sectional high resolution-transmission electron microscopy. The composite photocatalysts displayed visible light adsorption and reduced photoluminescence signal, revealing a valid electronic coupling between the CoFe-LDHs nanosheets and titania nanosheets. Remarkably, under the visible light irradiation, the composite photocatalysts extremely enhanced photocatalytic activity, which were 14.0 and 2.7 times that of titania and CoFe-LDHs nanosheet. The superlattice structure can promote electron transfer, which benefit from the compact stacking structure and matching band gap.
