Abstract

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the outcome results in 148 patients older than the age of 40 years who underwent either superior labrum tear anterior to posterior (SLAP) repair or biceps tenodesis with a concomitant rotator cuff repair. Rotator cuff repair with SLAP lesions showed excellent results with either biceps tenodesis or SLAP repair in patients older than 40 with greater than 2-year follow-up (American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons, p = 0.69; Simple Shoulder Test p = 0.99). Despite evolution toward tenodesis preference over SLAP repair, no difference in outcomes was observed in this study.
