Abstract

Irreparable rotator cuff tears are a challenging treatment dilemma for the orthopedic surgeon. Superior capsule reconstruction (SCR) using acellular dermal allograft has grown in popularity, and a number of techniques have recently been described, including mini-open and all-arthroscopic. Although there are no current long-term studies evaluating outcomes using acellular dermal graft, biomechanical studies indicate that clinical application could result in reliable restoration of function. There is currently no standardized technique for graft passage for SCR. The technique described in this article presents a novel technique for the passage of the acellular dermal graft using Mulberry knots for SCR.
