Abstract

Ruthenium vanadate (Ru2VO6) quantum dots-V2O5 nanowires were prepared using hydrothermal, ion exchange, and calcination methods. The chemical composition and morphology of the obtained Ru2VO6 quantum dots-V2O5 nanowires were studied using XRD, SEM, TEM, etc. The sensor performance of the Ru2VO6 quantum dots-V2O5 nanowire sensor towards ammonia (NH3) was tested, which showed good selectivity and high response of 197.6 at 100 ppm NH3 and 200 °C due to the interaction of Ru2VO6 quantum dots with V2O5 nanowires, and 1.57 even at 1 ppm NH3 concentration. It showed good cycling stability and long-term stability for 7 days at 100 ppm NH3. Therefore, Ru2VO6 quantum dots-V2O5 nanowires are a promising gas sensing material.
