Abstract

The use of superheated water as a reversed‐phase mobile phase has been gaining acceptance over the past few years. There have been several recent publications on the properties of superheated water, its utility as a mobile phase, and the instrumental considerations required for its use. Because of its low cost and toxicity, the use of pure water has several advantages, particularly in the field of “green chemistry,” in which toxic solvents and reagents are avoided.
