Abstract

Purpose: To report a rare adult case of superficial adnexal lymphangioma.Method: Interventional case report and literature review. Results: A 42-year-old female presented with a 3-month history of ecchymosis and swelling in the left upper eyelid. On examination, a blue-grey mass over left upper eyelid and conjunctival fornix was noted. CT revealed a localized lid mass in left upper eyelid. Complete resection of the tumor was done via lid crease incision, and the pathology disclosed a lymphangioma. Conclusion: Lymphangioma is an uncommon vascular malformation that was usually diagnosed in early childhood. Superficial type of lymphangioma is rare and may occur later in adult life. Therefore, lymphangioma should be included in differential diagnosis in adult case of lid swelling.
