Abstract

Superconducting states with broken time reversal symmetry can cause arbitrary intrinsic phase shifts in Josephson junctions. It is shown that locally time reversal symmetry breaking states can occur at interfaces between d-wave superconductors for certain crystal alignments. This property could be detected in form of fractional magnetic flux quanta on Josephson junctions and modified phase slip effects.
