Abstract

The superconducting ceramicsBi1.6Pb0.4Sr2Ca3Cu4O12 havebeen prepared by the melt-casting method. A zero resistance temperature at60 K has been observed. It has been found that the superconductingphase temperature Tc increases with increasingsintering temperature. The effect of Pb content on thesuperconductivity of the ceramic has been studied. The microstructureof the sample has been investigated by scanning electron microscopy. Phaseanalysis has been carried out by x-ray diffraction patterns and energydispersive analysis through x-ray spectroscopy.
