Abstract

Changes in the superconducting transition temperature of thin films are described. Included is a discussion of T c changes in “soft metal” films, and finally the lowered T c in near monolayer disordered films is also considered. Factors which influence superconductivity in the various cases, such as the phonon spectrum, the density of states, and the metal-insulator boundary, are discussed.
