Abstract
We report superconductivity at 1.4 K in the ternary ${\mathrm{SrPt}}_{10}{\mathrm{P}}_{4}$ with a complex new structure. ${\mathrm{SrPt}}_{10}{\mathrm{P}}_{4}$ crystallizes in a monoclinic space-group C2/c (#15) with lattice parameters $a=22.9151(9)\phantom{\rule{0.16em}{0ex}}\text{\AA{}}, b=13.1664$(5)$\phantom{\rule{0.16em}{0ex}}\text{\AA{}}, c=13.4131$(5)$\phantom{\rule{0.16em}{0ex}}\text{\AA{}}$, and $\ensuremath{\beta}=90.0270(5){}^{\ensuremath{\circ}}$. Bulk superconductivity in the samples has been demonstrated through resistivity, ac susceptibility, and heat capacity measurements. High pressure measurements have shown that the superconducting ${\mathrm{T}}_{C}$ is systematically suppressed upon application of pressure, with a ${\mathrm{dT}}_{C}/\mathrm{dP}$ coefficient of $\ensuremath{-}0.016$ K/GPa.
