Abstract

Electrical resistivity and AC magnetic susceptibility measurements revealed that quasi-one-dimensional compounds AV 6S 8 ( A=In, T1, K, Rb, Cs) showed a superconductivity at T c(onset)=3.9, 4.1, 0.71, 0.65, and 0.32 K for A=In, T1, K, Rb, Cs, respectively. V 6S 8 showed T c (onset) at 0.76 K. AV 6S 8 showed a phase transition at ca. 160 K, which was characterized by a hump of the resistivity on cooling. The transition was discussed in terms of charge density wave (CDW) instability.
