Abstract
The authors describe a method for the deposition of YBa{sub 2}Cu{sub 3}O{sub 7{minus}{delta}} coatings by simultaneous deposition of the required elements while in the presence of cyanide ions. In the process, a Y-Ba-Cu precursor was formed and subsequently converted to YBa{sub 2}Cu{sub 3}O{sub 7{minus}{delta}} by thermal treatment. Wires obtained in the deposition are superconducting with T{sub c} = 92 {degrees}C. J{sub c} was found to be approximately 51 A/cm{sup 2} for deposits thicker than 96 microns while at LN{sub 2} temperatures.
