Abstract

The superconducting proximity effect in Cu-clad Nb wires, doped with dilute magnetic impurities, has been studied in relation to the Kondo effect. The spin flip scattering by Mn is found to be rapidly suppressed below 0.5 K, probably due to the Mn-Mn interaction, while that by Fe, Co and Ni decreases linearly with temperature below 1 K.
