Abstract

We report the temperature dependence of resistivity, DC magnetic susceptibility and heat capacity for the noncentrosymmetric superconductor CaIrSi3. The bulk superconducting transition temperature Tc is about 3.0K. The upper critical field Hc2 estimated from the H–T phase diagram is 0.44T, yielding a superconducting coherence length: ξ(0)=27nm. The heat capacity exhibits a clear jump at Tc indicating bulk superconductivity and is well described within the BCS framework.
