Abstract
We fabricated large grain (Sm, Gd)-Ba-Cu-O bulksuperconductors with the top-seeded, melt-growth process in airand 1%O2-Ar. Ag addition was effective insuppressing the amount of cracking. Unlike Sm-Ba-Cu-O, the(Sm, Gd)-Ba-Cu-O bulk showed relatively high Tc and largeJc values even when melt-processed in air. The trapped fieldvalue of 0.83 T was recorded at 77 K for the sample meltprocessed in air.
