Abstract
An upgrade of the KEKB collider to a machine with luminosity of > 10 35 cm −2s −1 (Super KEKB) is considered to extend its physics coverage. The precise determination of the CKM matrix elements as well as a search for new physics can be explored in the studies of the B meson system and τ lepton in this machine. Super KEKB will complement the direct search for new physics at high energy colliders. The unprecedented luminosity is feasible with a major upgrade of the existing KEKB facility. The machine can be upgraded on a time scale that makes its physics capability competitive with hadron collider experiments.
